The Island's third EP, "Delayed", is like a soundtrack to flying a stolen aeroplane over a desert in the American South-West, or rolling down the streets of the vast, mad bowl of Los Angeles in a great White Whale, with the dashboard full of esoteric lights and dials and meters that one would never understand. The music fades in and out, sudden eruptions burst forward amidst the ever-changing tapestry of notes, phrases and drones; the whole thing taking the form of a living symphony. Using the full palette of the electric guitar, this work captures the true essence of the instrument.
